About The Position

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Class A Driver will operate a 1-ton truck with a gooseneck trailer to pick up, transport, and deliver materials between TAS warehouse facilities and vendor sites in the greater Houston area. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe working conditions of truck and trailer Verifies items being picked up or delivered Manages basic automotive and equipment repairs and cleanliness Loads and unloads truck by hand, forklift, or other equipment in accordance with TAS best practices Assists warehouse with transactions as needed and available Set up and monitor DOT Compliant Driver Files Conduct Road Tests of all perspective TAS Drivers Make recommendations to the Logistics Manager and EHS Manager to better the DOT Program for FMCSA and TXDOT Compliance Other duties as assigned by TAS

  • Experience with dry-van trailers
  • Experience transporting oversize/overweight freight
  • Knowledge of permits, routing, and load securement for oversized freight

  • 3+ years of in a warehouse or inventory position
  • Must be 25+ years of age
  • Valid Class A Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Knowledgeable of USDOT requirements
  • Previous experience working in an industrial manufacturing setting
  • Able to walk/stand in steel-toed boots for long distances/ periods of time
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Read and speak English fluently

Nice To Haves

  • TMS and MAS500 a plus
  • Knowledgeable of transportation is a plus
