About The Position

We are currently seeking a Drafter III to support operations in Charleston, SC. This is a full-time CONUS position requiring an active DoD Secret clearance. This position may be subject to the Service Contract Labor Standards Act (SCLS)/Service Contract Act (SCA).

Requirements

  • 2 years with degree or 5 years with HS/GED of experience drafting/illustrating in the electronics field, to include: computerized drafting applications, digital imaging techniques, use of AutoCAD planning and preparing graphic presentations of complex items.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) drafting standards, processes, and procedural requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Shore Installation Handbook (SIH) and ability to apply its guidelines to ensure compliant shore-based facility designs.
  • Proficient in creating and editing technical diagrams using Microsoft Visio, including network layouts and cable routing schematics.
  • Must have a current and active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies
  • Some overnight stays possible.
  • Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.
  • Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful background investigation
  • Drug screening may be required for federal contract compliance

Responsibilities

  • Apply Knowledge of DoD Standards: Utilize a solid understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) drafting processes, documentation standards, and procedural requirements to support the development of technical drawings and installation packages in compliance with military specifications.
  • Interpret and Apply Shore Installation Handbook (SIH): Reference and adhere to guidelines outlined in the Shore Installation Handbook to ensure accurate and compliant design layouts for telecommunications, IT, or infrastructure projects in shore-based facilities.
  • Create and Edit Technical Diagrams Using MS Visio: Use Microsoft Visio to develop and maintain detailed diagrams, including network layouts, rack elevations, and cable routing schematics, ensuring clarity and precision in technical documentation.
