About The Position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a hardworking team of systems engineers and designers, you will contribute to and support technical spacecraft design documentation for various spaceflight systems. In this role, you will be accountable for providing vehicle and inter-element interfaces and designs on various configurations. You will be working closely with associated teams to detail the design of an end-item product. You will be an integral part of the design team transitioning from development phase, through first flight, into production. You will be required to build CAD models, system layouts, interface controls, and functional schematics to manage the design development for the configuration. Working with each of the design teams, you will implement and enforce top-down design principles, maintain the CAD product structure, and export CAD models for their analysis and system level integration. Collaboration is encouraged with various engineering teams to utilize Creo Parametric for configuration design and documentation. As a coordinated configuration team member, you will support program concept development, interface management, procurement, assembly, integration, testing, and operations. You will be encouraged to use a background of knowledge building and integrating complex systems to drive configuration maturity towards crafting for maintainability, sustainability, manufacturing, and operations. To be successful, you will apply skillsets required to plan, layout, and maintain engineering data that represents the continued evolution of configuration designs such as detail, assembly, and installation drawings. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
