As Downline Utility at a food manufacturing company, your primary responsibility is to assist in the production and packaging of food products. You will work as part of a team to ensure that products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company quality standards and regulations. A general laborer at a food manufacturing company should be diligent, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment. This role is essential for ensuring the quality and efficiency of food production processes.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working in a production/manufacturing environment or related field is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMPs) is beneficial.
  • Work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Work well within a team environment
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and industry standard cleaning procedures.

  • Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery and equipment used in food production, such as conveyors and packaging machines.
  • Monitor and control the flow of raw materials through various stages of production.
  • Conduct visual inspections of food products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Report any product defects or irregularities to supervisors.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to maintain product integrity and safety.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly to maintain a hygienic manufacturing environment.
  • Dispose of waste and recyclables properly.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve production targets and deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including batch records and inventory logs.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Attend training sessions to stay updated on safety procedures, food handling regulations, and company policies.
