About The Position

The training supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that new RSA Recruits are trained adequately and monitored during the on-boarding process. The training supervisor will deliver class room training as well as on-road training and evaluation on DOT Compliance, on-board technology and delivery methods. In addition, the training supervisor will be responsible for anticipating training needs and will take direction regarding required training from the Safety Manager. Participates in New Driver Basic Training Class and Smith System Defensive Driving Ensures proper training of new hires (RSAs) on DOT Compliance & On-board Technology Daily interaction with all RSA students to evaluate their training and identify deficiencies Responsible for performing final evaluation of RSA students before releasing them to Transportation Evaluate individuals' abilities and needs; develops suitable training to meet any special requirements Conduct periodic audits of new RSAs during the first six months of their employment to ensure adherence to training Monitor, evaluate and record training activities and program effectiveness Perform audits of senior RSA’s to assess skill level and identify retraining needs Conduct bi-annual Smith System certification of RSA’s Monitor daily dispatch of junior RSA’s to ensure the work load is consistent with training requirements Collaborate with Management Team to facilitate understanding of issues and constructively resolve them Coach and train drivers to effectively handle and facilitate the delivery of their loads Coach and train employees on proper key drop procedures Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing DOT, personal safety, and food safety Teach and demonstrate use of equipment including POD and OBC systems.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing good customer service
  • Must have good communication skills both verbally and written form
  • Ability to relate to all types of people and levels in and outside the organization, employing social perceptiveness, active listening skills and adjusting actions and style of communication when appropriate to ensure effectiveness
  • Must have time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must have excellent math skills
  • Valid Class A- CDL driver’s license required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Able to perform repetitive lifting of over 50lbs., occasional lifting over 100lbs. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to walk extensively. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend at the waist, stoop, and squat to lift heavy items in a proper manner. Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs. Must be able to read numbers and product descriptions.
