The DOT Driver position is responsible for the efficient movement of inventory and merchandise between store locations utilizing a DOT class vehicle. When not actively delivering orders, communication and support of team members is key in the movement and display of inventory to offer customers the highest level of customer service. Requirements

  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age
  • Hold a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record for the past three years.
  • Must have no record of any DUIs.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience driving a DOT class vehicle and experience in the retail, horticultural, or gardening fields is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates excellent driving skills by obeying traffic laws while accurately and efficiently delivering orders between various locations
  • Assist team members in the loading and unloading of delivered materials consisting of loam, mulch, firewood, planters, plant materials, and trees.
  • Maintain records of vehicle logs and deliveries to verify contents
  • Complete routine inspection and cleaning of trucks
  • Assist customers in transporting purchased goods from the property
  • Check and validate packing slips and truck logs when supporting the movement and replacement of inventory on the property
  • Communicate with team members to assist customers with questions and inquires by providing strong product knowledge and location
  • Improve and maintain presentation of inventory, including deadheading and watering of live inventory
  • Accept any assignment on the general floor to improve the maintenance and housekeeping of the property
