About The Position

Customer service oriented person to greet and escort various tenant types such as Mount Sinai VIPs, faculty, residents, clinical fellows, medical students (graduates and PhDs) and visitors by opening doors, carrying bags, hailing taxicabs, answering inquiries, as well as performing other related and assistant services. Screens all incoming vendors and non-residential visitors.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent GED and a good command of the English language (i.e. read, write and understand instructions in English).
  • Some experience as a Bellhop, Doorman or in Security

Responsibilities

  • CUSTOMER SERVICE: Assist all tenants entering or leaving the building by opening building door(s). Provides assistance to those with packages, suitcases, etc. as well as records package deliveries in logbook, if required. Flags taxi for all. Communicate parking procedures within the area and assists any disabled tenants, if required. Liaise with superintendent of building on any urgent tenant issues. Follows all building Customer Service guidelines.
  • SECURITY AND FIRE SAFETY: Screens people who are trying to enter building and directs delivery workers to the delivery entrance of building. Announces all visitors to appropriate tenants. Follows Security and Fire Safety procedures of the building. Reports and/or removes unauthorized or undesirable people from the premises.
  • CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE: Mops and cleans vestibule and lobby floors. Must present a neat appearance and wear uniform at all times.
