To join this landmark opening is to take part in a milestone moment: setting the standard for ultra-luxury hospitality in San Francisco for a new generation. This project is being realized through a partnership between Highgate, a global leader in hospitality management and real estate investment, and Flynn Properties, one of San Francisco’s most respected developers. The Door & Bell person is responsible for welcoming guests in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner and providing the guest with a positive first impression. He/she is also responsible for providing assistance into and out of the hotel as well as assisting with transportation needs and assist guests with the transportation of their luggage.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload luggage carts and assist guests with the tagging, storing and retrieving of luggage.
  • Assist guests with cabs and other transportation requirements.
  • Call the garage for valet cars, if applicable.
  • Open vehicle and hotel doors and greet arriving and departing guests.
  • Respond to guest questions and answer information on local attractions, events and daily activities in the hotel.
  • Be aware of VIP and repeat guests; greet them by name.
  • Announce departing shuttles.
  • Maintain cleanliness of motor entrance and front door.
