About The Position

The Donor Partnerships Coordinator plays a key role on FamilyForward’s Development team, supporting donor engagement, stewardship, events, and volunteer activities. This position is perfect for someone passionate about mission-driven work, building relationships, and growing a career in nonprofit fundraising. The Donor Partnerships Coordinator will help manage a small portfolio of donors, contribute to fundraising campaigns and events, and provide meaningful support to the broader development operations in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks, and stay organized in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Comfortable working with databases and willingness to learn Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Enthusiasm for learning, mission-driven work, and developing relationships.
  • Availability to occasionally support events on evenings or weekends.
  • Knowledge of FamilyForward’s mission, programs, and community impact, or the ability to quickly learn and communicate it effectively.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs and time pressures.
  • A strong customer service mindset and ability to build rapport with donors, volunteers, and community members.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience (including internships or volunteer roles) in fundraising, communications, customer service, or relationship-based work (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Work with events and volunteer coordinator as part of donor strategy.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising and donor engagement plans.
  • Own and manage a portfolio of 90–150 donors, including cultivation and solicitation.
  • Own and manage naming opportunities for our capital campaign.
  • Oversee and be accountable for fundraising events and third-party fundraising efforts.
  • Support the cultivation and stewardship of individual, corporate, and foundation donors through personalized outreach, thank you calls, handwritten notes, and impact updates.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors with the goal of deepening engagement and increasing giving over time.
  • Maintain a curious, energetic, and mission-centered approach to work and collaboration with others in the department and the agency.
  • Proactively ask how you can support others within the department and across the organization.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of donor facing events, including logistics, guest outreach, day of support, and post-event follow up.
  • Partner with staff, including but not limited to, the Special Events and Volunteer Coordinator to support volunteer engagement efforts and provide an excellent experience for FamilyForward volunteers.
  • Conduct donor research and prepare briefing materials for the Associate Director of Donor Partnerships and other team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Mission Communications Manager and other team members as needed to draft donor communications, acknowledgments, and impact stories.
  • Maintain accurate and timely donor records and activity notes in the designated donor database (currently Raiser’s Edge NXT).
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute ideas to support donor acquisition, retention, and appreciation.
  • Contribute to grant writing initiatives with a focus on learning and growth.
