About The Position

Under the supervision of the Sr Director of Donor Engagement, the Donor Specialist is responsible for operating large delivery vehicles within the areas served by Goodwill to deliver and or collect goods, as directed. As the donor specialist, this role involves upholding the mission, vision, and values while conducting home pickups throughout the southeast Georgia area.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6-12 months commercial truck driving experience or any job-related experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License (Class C), with driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company’s standards.
  • Ability to read map and other written directions
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to follow instructions and comply with policies and procedures.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to maintain good relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Must be able to understand and follow training instructions.

Responsibilities

  • As the donor specialist, uphold the mission, vision, and values while conducting home pickups throughout the southeast Georgia area.
  • Operate vehicle while maintain safety standards.
  • Utilize independent judgement and knowledge to accept saleable donation and assign corresponding price to each high-ticket item secured.
  • Maintain records of pickup to correlate with goods received to provide verification to the store manager receiving product.
  • Ensure maintenance checks/safety standards are complete and accurate for all equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintain schedule and complete home pickups following the assigned schedule.
  • Provides supervision and oversight of the donation attendant assigned to the program.
  • Handle, load, unload and secure goods in manner which protects goods, donors and associates;
  • Provide first level of customer support to resolve customer service complaints or issues.
  • Works in coordination with administrative support specialist and senior director of donor engagement to build, maintain, and monitor schedule of home pickups.
  • Adhere to all driving rules and regulations; Report motor vehicle violations (on/off duty) within 24 hours.
  • Report all property damage immediately and complete written accident reports.
  • Use appropriate safety and protective equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record.
