About The Position

Responsible for managing and maintaining donor database (Blackbaud RE/ NXT). This includes gift processing and acknowledgements, reporting and analysis of data, as well as managing data import and data entry, data quality initiatives, and other related activities. Assist in fundraising activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience, plus 2+ years of development administration, gift processing, or related database/system operation experience acceptable.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated ability to manage a database. Writing database queries and reports; previous experience in Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills necessary to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong initiative and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work within a team and/or independently when necessary. Flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to prioritize duties and work under pressure of deadlines.
  • Reliable vehicle, valid Texas Driver’s License, and auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and practice Houston Hospice’s mission, values, vision, and goals.
  • Understand and adhere to organizational privacy practices and compliance programs.
  • Complete gift entry by accurately entering new or updating existing records with gift amounts, assigning appropriate fund accounts, campaigns, appeals and/or event codes.
  • Monitor and maintain data integrity.
  • Produce acknowledgement letters/gift receipts while checking for grammatical/typographical mistakes and knowledge of tax receipting protocol.
  • Process online and matching gifts, create pledge reminders, and attach pertinent documents to donor records.
  • Generate queries, gift reports and lists to support timely execution of donor cultivation and stewardship strategies. Produce lists as needed for mailings, events, board giving, and moves management.
  • Create custom dashboards.
  • Work closely with finance to provide monthly reconciliation, including deposits, stock/wire transfer, refunds and other related data.
  • Respond to inquiries from and solve problems for donors, including but not limited to mailing lists, returned mail, gift inquiries, orders for memorial or other recognition gifts, correspondence, possible donor cultivation opportunities and other areas that arise affecting development strategy.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality associated with donor and personnel information.
  • Assist with development of database policies and procedural manual.
  • Assist with fundraising activities and events as needed.
  • Attend mandatory in-service meetings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.
