Position Summary: The Domain Application Architect provides leadership in the development of software application solutions used by the business community within their application domain. This leadership encompasses solution design, implementation, and maintenance consistent with defined enterprise software architecture standards. As the technical authority for key initiatives such as Chat and AI & Agents, the architect is responsible for guiding features from conception to deployment. This includes leading architectural design, driving PI planning through feature estimation and work breakdown, and authoring detailed development tasks. The role also involves stewarding technical excellence by conducting advanced code reviews, leading technical discussions, and actively mentoring developers through pairing and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field required
  • 4-6 years of previous software development experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated mastery of current development and design technologies
  • Application/database design and architecture experience
  • Strong commitment to software quality
  • Proven analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
  • Solid customer focus, teamwork, innovation, creativity, and relationship building
  • Must have good written, verbal, organizational and communication skills as well as problem-solving capabilities.
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate drive and initiative and be highly motivated toward company, team, and individual results and maintain a high focus on priorities.
  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems, and reference established precedents and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and ensure adherence to architecture standards across the team’s product portfolio
  • Design and develop programs according to the specifications and established coding standards, and testing them for accuracy and optimal performance
  • Analyze current business systems, determining the scope and estimates for tasks related enhancements or issues that need to be resolved
  • Analyze software packages as potential solutions
  • Create Software Architecture artifacts and present them for review at the Application Engineering Council (AAC)
  • Collaborate with internal customers to establish technical requirements
  • Perform integrated testing of systems for accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance
  • Perform system software maintenance, support, and requirements analysis
  • Conduct and facilitate formal code reviews
