About The Position

The student will prepare and test the hyperbaric levitator equipment in the laboratory. X-ray scattering experiments will be performed at the Advanced Photon Source on the high energy x-ray beamline 6-ID-D. The student will analyze the x-ray data using standard data analysis software codes. The data will be interpreted to understand the structure-property relations at very high temperatures in these ceramic materials. If time allows the student will perform advanced Monte Carlo computer simulations to model the x-ray scattering data. Education and Experience Requirements The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States. Applicants must be: Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution. Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
