About The Position

ASTRO phase II is an extension of the developmental work that was completed in Summer 2025. The overall intent is to develop a CCD device positioning system that will properly “poise” the device towards a fix point (aka, the sample-under-test). The ASTRO-02-B phase proposal is to design, fabrication, and test the 1/4 scale prototype to include a x-y-z travel gantry and a macro pitch and yaw DOF motions for the ASTRO I device. The developed ASTRO-01 device will be integrated into this new x-y-z gantry, with the addition of the macro pitch and yaw DOF motions. The over size is 48”(L) x 26”(H) x 22”(W).
