About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the Quality Control (QC) Document Coordinator is responsible for safely, efficiently, and effectively organizing all departmental procedures and the Safe Quality Food (SQF) file directory. Additionally, the QC Document Control Coordinator maintains the critical issue directory and analyzes critical issue data, as well as participating in the investigation of critical issues. The QC Document Coordinator participates in the development and review of food safety and quality plans and creates flow charts of the manufacturing processes. The QC Document Coordinator is a key component of our overall business success.

Requirements

  • Must have thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Must have excellent and effective interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work with diverse groups in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple job requirements/projects
  • Must be able and willing to work at times on other shifts when necessary to perform the duties of the position and support Quality Department needs
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail
  • Must have excellent and effective organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Must be energetic, engaging, flexible, and adaptable
  • Must be solutions-oriented with a competitive drive
  • High school diploma minimum, advanced education preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Candidate must be willing to become certified as a HACCP manager and SQF Practitioner
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to Team Leaders, managers, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of customer specific and industry specific data

Responsibilities

  • Follow the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), uniform and dress code, and product safety requirements.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, keeping work area clean and safe at all times.
  • Maintain a good attendance record and positive attitude.
  • Support company policies and be safety conscious at all times.
  • Report safety concerns and defective equipment to immediate supervisor or Team Leader.
  • Organize all departmental procedures and the SQF directory and files/folders.
  • Participate in SQF audits and preparation.
  • Maintain the change control process, including resolving discrepancies with submitters.
  • Maintain the critical issue database and analyze customer critical issues.
  • Participate in the investigation of customer critical issues and write responses to consumers as appropriate.
  • Participate in annual reviews of the food safety and quality plans.
  • Coordinate biannual review of departmental procedures.
  • Create process flowcharts for food safety and quality plans.
  • Update food safety and quality manuals.
  • Review daily production records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare and send Certificates of Analysis for finished products.
  • Perform audits of completed documentation to ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices.
  • Create quality audits and procedures in JustFood.
  • Organize the training database for all employees/procedures.
  • Perform trend analysis on internal testing, quality hold database, and customer complaint database.
  • Execute incoming film quality audits.
  • Proof new film and compare with artwork.
  • Receive, file, copy, catalogue, and distribute paper/electronic versions of all documents as necessary.
  • Have a basic knowledge of production lines and products.
  • Work extended schedules as the needs of the business dictate.
  • Work in other areas as workload demands.
  • Other duties as assigned.
