POSITION TITLE: Document Custody Clerk (Non – LO – No Consumer Contact) JOB STATUS: Full Time/Hourly DEPARTMENT: Document Services REPORTS TO: Document Custody and Release Team Lead TRAVEL REQUIRED: None WORK SCHEDULE: Required In Office Pay: The expected hiring range for this position is from $35,060 to $41,425 plus additional bonus opportunity. The stated hiring range is based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Final compensation decisions will take into account a variety of considerations, including individual skills, internal equity, and organizational needs. JOB SUMMARY: The Document Custody Clerk is responsible for creating and maintaining VMF loan files by managing, organizing and filing incoming and outgoing loan documents. This role reports to the Document Custody and Release Team Lead.

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 0 – 1 year of experience.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to type at least 25 wpm.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via phone, email, and person to person.
  • Capability of gathering facts accurately, analyzing causes, evaluating alternate solutions, and arriving at sound conclusions on action to be taken.
  • Ability to manage multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities.
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Adheres to compliance and confidentiality in managing sensitive customer information.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of AS/400, Microsoft Word, and Excel a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and Maintains VMF Loan Files · Completes audits and checks in collateral files and documents to support new loan originations.
  • Responsible for pulling requested loan files, researching for accuracy, and sending documents to the requested departments.
  • Performs investor relocations when necessary.
  • Works to maintain organization and tidiness within the document vault.
  • Research and Audits · Audits loan files for completion, accuracy, and location of missing documents.
  • Performs audits on files to ensure complete with required documents in case of creating Ginnie Mae pools, bulk sales, as well as scratch and dent sales.
  • Completes loan purchase due diligence as needed.
  • Intercompany Departmental Support · Pulls original documents upon request in support of department processes within VMF.
  • Handles service and information requests from Silverton Mortgage including, but not limited to, pulling, and endorsing requested collateral documents, obtaining all authorized signatures, shipping new documents to investors, release & receipting of trailing documents, and documenting loan sales.
  • Other duties as assigned
