About The Position

Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Document Control Clerk. Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our San Diego, CA location and reports to the Quality Manager. Position Summary: Position will work directly with the quality department under the Quality Manager. Provide support and coordinates activities for the document control process. Performs duties related to the control of quality records and supports training related activities. Incumbent must be self-started, proactive, detail-oriented, computer literate, have good communication and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University or High School Diploma.
  • Eligible candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or person lawfully admitted for permanent residence.
  • At least two years of experience in compliance and/or document control area (preferably for composites manufacturing in the aerospace and defense industries).
  • Must be able to take direction / supervision and work cooperatively with others.
  • Good organizational, time management, and communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in the use of the entire Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Strong attention to details.
  • US. Person under 22 CFR 120 (due to ITAR Restrictions)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MRP / ERP system a plus.
  • Experience with AS9100 including ISO 9001 and NADCAP for Composites a plus.
  • Bilingual preferred; speak, read, write, and comprehend (English and Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Document Control Program:
  • Prepares, scans, and archives quality records.
  • Assists in the distribution process including preparation, distribution, withdraw, and archiving of quality records.
  • Prepares end item data packages (EDIPs) for products to fulfill customer contractual requirements and meet monthly sales goal.
  • Audits the production floor to ensure documented information is controlled, adequate, being adhered to, and properly completed per requirements.
  • Performs configuration analyst activities by ensuring released documented information has proper naming convention, is on the correct template, is being used for its intended purpose, etc. as applicable and required by the quality management system.
  • Assists with receiving documented information to ensure that required documented information as requested by purchase order is provided by the external provider and archived to support EIDPs and customer requirements.
  • Works with all departments to ensure that controlled documented information meets the needs and requirements of each department to support the quality management system.
  • Ensures controlled unclassified information (CUI) is properly controlled.
  • Support the Training Program:
  • Provides training on document control processes.
  • Records filing.
  • Completes request related to training completion.
  • Audits (Internal & External).
  • Provide support during audits in terms of gathering the requested evidence/documentation in a timely manner.
  • Assists quality department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
