About The Position

Provides the firm with efficient and accurate legal software support. Organizes and assists special project teams for large and/or urgent administrative and/or client tasks including documentation of specific project instructions. Uses good communication skills and is courteous and professional at all times. Reads instructions accompanying material, or follows verbal instructions to determine format and content required. Provides high-level/technical support and assistance to internal customers utilizing department knowledge and experience. Creates, revises and formats documents using computer and legal software or other equipment; originates documents from transcriptions. Completes multi-step projects from start to completion using technical knowledge and advanced skills. Listens to and transcribes micro cassette tapes and audio files. Compiles material to be typed, following written and/or oral instruction. Participates in periodic meetings to ensure and improve work group effectiveness and teamwork. Attends internal training sessions to demonstrate technical proficiency with firm software applications. May assist staff by providing training, workload/workflow management and quality assurance. Engages in guiding and mentoring of staff to enhance performance and work product. May assist legal teams with the preparation and filing of U.S. Federal/District and State court documents. Provides backup support within the department. Expected to provide occasional weekend coverage.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have knowledge of the firm's software system (Microsoft Office)
  • Must participate in ongoing software training to learn/enhance skills
