The Division of Molecular Oncology & Cellular Therapeutics (MOCT) at Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy (CM) seeks to recruit two creative and scholarly junior faculty members to expand the research, educational, and quality missions of MOCT, an academic division focused on studying the underlying biology of cancer and developing new treatment options for pediatric and young adult hematology and oncology patients. Each new faculty member will be provided with salary from the MOCT Division and laboratory space and startup funds for 3 years, supplied by Children’s Mercy Research Institute (CMRI) with an amount determined at the time of recruitment and tailored to the prospective faculty member's research program. During the startup period, the new faculty members will be expected to apply for and obtain independent sources of funding which may initially be CM pilot awards but with an emphasis on extramural grants. The faculty members will be offered academic appointments at the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine and the Kansas University School of Medicine, rank to be commensurate with experience.
