About The Position

The Division of Health Services and Outcomes Research at Children’s Mercy Kansas City is looking to recruit a new researcher to enhance our existing strengths and/or broaden the division’s capacity to fulfil our mission to improve the health and wellness of children and their families locally, nationally and internationally. We invite applications for a faculty position in Dissemination and Implementation Science. We seek qualified individuals with expertise in the translation of research findings and evidence into effective healthcare interventions, programs and policy. Candidates should have experience with a variety of implementation theories, models and frameworks (e.g. CFIR, Precede-Proceed, PRISM, RE-AIM) and experience with a variety of evaluative processes and data analysis methods. Candidates that study social, behavioral, economic, and management factors that impact implementation of evidence-based health interventions will be highly valued. Successful candidates will be expected to educate other faculty on the application of Dissemination and Implementation Science principles in health research, conduct original independent research, collaborate with research teams across Children’s Mercy Kansas City, publish peer reviewed manuscripts, and seek extramural funding for their research program. Candidates should have a PhD or other applicable advanced degree in a discipline such as Implementation Science, Public Health, Healthcare Administration and Management, Health Services Research, or related field. Successful candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with faculty across Children's Mercy and national/international partner institutions. We have mature collaborations with more than 50 hospitals and academic institutions worldwide, and strong ties with regional partners such as the University of Kansas, University of Kansas Medical Center, University of Missouri-Kansas City, and Stower’s Research Institute, which provide a rich research environment and support for continued professional development. Children’s Mercy’s Center for Pediatrics Genomic Medicine (first of its kind in a children’s hospital), Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutic Innovation, Center for Healthy Lifestyles and Nutrition, and the Center for Bioethics are well-recognized for their research and scholarly contributions and provide ample opportunities for research collaboration.
