Directs and supervisors Dock activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling materials, and keeping inventory current. Ensure dock and warehouse sanitation. Attends daily planning and staff meeting. Recordkeeping of dock operations and forklift operations. Confer with office to ensure coordination of dock activities with activities of other functions such as inventory, sales, receiving, and purchasing. Confer with Plant Engineer to ensure coordination of PM schedule/equipment maintenance and other maintenance related issues. Direct salvage of damaged or used material. Direct orientation and training of new employees. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
