About The Position

BASIC FUNCTION Responsible for the put away of finished goods and bulk material into designated areas in the warehouse in an efficient and safe manner. JOB DUTIES Responsible for working with the Distribution Supervisor to determine the start of the shift priorities. Possesses the ability to independently plan work activities. Demonstrates the ability to coordinate work activities with that of others as a cooperative member of a Team. Ability to operate equipment which requires specialized knowledge of processes. Can estimate the speed of moving objects to maintain safe vehicle operation. Communicates / Dispatches all LTL Carriers Manifest and prints Bill of Ladings for LTL and TL shipments Accurately labels out bound pallets with Shipping Labels Assures that all LTL and Truckload shipments are correctly loaded on the correct carrier trailers Responsible to make sure all drivers sign the appropriate paperwork Answers and directs carriers from gate to appropriate dock doors for loading / unloading Unloading of inbound freight shipments Keep track and inventory levels of pallets on trailers for use in the DC Maintains good housekeeping in the dock and staging areas Can plan and carry out movement or flow of materials or products in a productive manner. Responsible for completing daily routing spreadsheets to carriers when applicable. Responsible for filling out end of day dock activities using excel spreadsheets. Responsible to ask questions if unsure of process steps and to seek supervisory guidance. Assist in finished goods inventory as required. Responsible for safe, responsible equipment operation and work practices of self and others. Ensures that each customer order can withstand transport by utilizing wrapping process. Must successfully complete a D.O.T. training course. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • 2 years of prior experience with loading / unloading of trailers / containers
  • 2 years prior experience in the safe operation of a Towmotor (Forklift).
  • Must be able to understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate with management, employees, drivers and carrier freight terminals.
  • Must recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Must possess the ability to count and make simple arithmetic additions, subtractions, multiplications and divisions.
  • Must read and write English and perform simple math calculations (additions, subtractions, multiplications, divisions).
  • Must be computer literate.
