About The Position

This role is vital to maintaining safety, cleanliness, and smooth operations at the marina. As a Dock Hand, you'll ensure pristine docks, welcoming grounds, smooth fueling operations, and event support- while providing excellent service to members and guests.

Requirements

  • Must be in good physical condition; able to lift/move/push up to 50
  • Comfortable with outdoor physical labor in varying Gulf Coast weather
  • Physical strength and stamina for handling lines and maneuvering
  • Basic boating knowledge and
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational
  • Basic pest/pest-control knowledge a
  • Great customer service
  • Appropriate attire is required.
  • Shirts furnished by
  • Neat, clean shorts or
  • Boat shoes or tennis shoes with white
  • Professional appearance reflecting the high standards of Lakewood Yacht
  • Adhere to all rules, regulations, and benefits outlined in the LYC Employee

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of dock surfaces (scrubbing, sweeping, power washing).
  • Remove bird droppings from docks and common areas every
  • Replenish dog waste bags at designated
  • Address pest control needs (e.g., eliminate ant infestations).
  • Maintain boat ramp cleanliness and
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop as it reflects on the marina's
  • Return dock carts to their proper
  • Inspect for inadequate dock lines and make corrections as
  • Remove trash and litter from grounds to keep the property
  • Prepare and tear down areas for events and club activities (tables, chairs, tenting, signage).
  • Assist the Sailing Director in coordinating adult racing
  • Fuel boats and operate fuel pumps following safety
  • Monitor dock areas to prevent unauthorized access; report suspicious
  • Keep a VHF radio on your person at all
  • Report and respond to oil spills and boating
  • Monitor weather conditions and take precautions to protect boats during
  • If the Dock Master is unavailable, monitor the grounds in his/her
  • Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies, ensuring safety procedures are
  • Greet members and guests in a courteous, professional
  • Provide information about marina facilities and address concerns
  • Foster a positive, welcoming environment for all
  • Complete pump-out operations and maintain accurate
  • Follow all marina operational protocols to ensure safety and member
