Job Summary The Commercial / Industrial Dock & Door Service Technician will travel to the customers location and will be responsible for performing on-site inspection, repairs, planned maintenance, removal and installation of dock levelers, doors, restraints, and various industrial equipment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with repair and maintenance of Commercial Overhead Doors, Dock Equipment, and/or other industrial equipment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, technology driven, service environment.
  • Possess strong teamwork skills.
  • Able to work without supervision. Occasionally, will work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, verbal, and written, with management and customers.
  • Able to manage time effectively, as well as complete service reports, timecards, and parts ordering.
  • Must have schedule flexibility, as services may be performed during evenings, weekends or holidays.
  • Willingness to work overtime.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have a valid A, B or C Driver’s License with a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.
  • The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in welding, steel fabrication and electrical a plus.
  • Technical school training and OEM certification a plus. Examples of training would include: AAADM; Rytec; Entrematic; Kelley; Poweramp; Wayne Dalton; etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service, maintenance, repair, and installation on Commercial Overhead Doors, Dock Equipment, and various warehouse equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications.
  • Provide information and recommend services to customers and the Sales team.
  • Identify and order parts required to complete repairs and/or routine maintenance.
  • Manage work orders and time sheets (paper and digital) for each job and turn-in within 24 hours of completion.
  • Perform hazard assessments and maintain a high standard of safe work practices and quality control.
  • Follow company and OSHA safety rules and guidelines. Avoid injuries and damage to property, loss of unused materials and clean-up of work area debris and complete all necessary company training in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager.
