About The Position

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable DMV Clerk to join our back-office team. This position is vital to ensuring timely and accurate vehicle registration and titling in compliance with all state and local regulations. The DMV Clerk is responsible for processing all new and used vehicle registrations, title transfers, for Out of State DMV-related paperwork. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of DMV procedures and work efficiently to support a high-volume dealership while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

1+ years of DMV processing experience in an automotive dealership environment required
Strong understanding of California DMV rules and procedures
Experience with DMV processing platforms (e.g., VITU, DMVdesk, or other electronic registration systems)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and handle high-volume processing
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Team player with a positive, professional attitude

Responsibilities

Process Out of State DMV paperwork for new and used vehicles (retail, lease, wholesale, and out-of-state)
Prepare and submit necessary documents to the DLR 50 DMV in a timely manner
Maintain accurate logs and records of all DMV transactions and status updates
Ensure compliance with state and local registration laws and requirements
Process releases of liability, and corrections as needed
Reconcile vehicle inventory reports and follow up on missing documents
Work closely with the sales and accounting departments to ensure clean deal jackets
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DMV regulations and changes
