About The Position

As a DME Technician, you will help patients safely access the respiratory and home medical equipment they need to manage their health at home. You will deliver, set up, and retrieve equipment while educating patients and caregivers, ensuring safety, comfort, and confidence throughout the process. Your role supports high‑quality care, strengthens the patient experience, and contributes to Advent Health Respiratory and Equipment’s mission to empower patients across Florida.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage physical demands and maintain safety awareness.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in DME, respiratory care, or home medical equipment.
  • Familiarity with patient care environments or healthcare settings.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery and pickup times with patients to ensure timely, reliable service.
  • Transport, deliver, and retrieve equipment and supplies while following safety procedures and reporting any concerns.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on proper use, storage, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Review and explain all documents in the New Patient Packet, ensuring understanding of rights and responsibilities.
  • Complete required delivery documentation, including route logs and oxygen dispensing logs.
  • Clean, maintain, and service equipment according to company standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all equipment received, delivered, and retrieved.
  • Keep warehouse areas organized, clean, and well‑stocked.
  • Serve as a professional representative of AHRE in all interactions with patients, caregivers, and partners.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation when assigned, maintaining availability and accurate call documentation.
  • Identify safety hazards during delivery and setup, taking appropriate action to mitigate risk.
  • Ensure safe vehicle operation in varied weather and travel conditions.
  • Support process improvements and collaborate to improve efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
