Your seat at the table: Divisional Controller You will love this seat if you get, want, and have the capacity to: Financial Reporting, Close, Budgeting, and Forecasting Own the monthly close for manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely results (journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and flux analysis). Prepare and/or oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L statements and related schedules in accordance with GAAP and corporate policies. Lead the annual operating plan/budget for sales, plant, and supply chain functions; drive periodic forecasts and rolling reforecasts in partnership with budget owners. Provide clear financial insights and actionable commentary to leadership on performance drivers, risks/opportunities, and corrective actions. Operational Finance Partnership (Plant & Cross-Functional) Serve as a strategic finance partner to Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Sales to align financial outcomes with operating priorities. Facilitate monthly performance reviews with budget owners (actual vs. budget/forecast), identifying key variances and developing mitigation plans. Develop and deliver operational KPI reporting (e.g., labor/overhead absorption, scrap, yield, freight, PPV, inventory turns, productivity) and translate results into decision-ready recommendations. Support cross-functional initiatives (S&OP inputs, capacity planning, make/buy, sourcing changes, footprint initiatives) through scenario modeling and ROI analysis. Inventory Valuation, Standard Costing, and Margin Performance Maintain accurate inventory valuation and costing in alignment with policy and GAAP (standard costing, overhead rates, reserves/obsolescence, lower-of-cost-or-net-realizable-value where applicable). Own the standard cost system: cost builds, BOM/routing integrity finance validation, annual/semi-annual cost roll, and overhead rate setting/true-ups. Lead COGS reporting and in-depth margin analysis by product/customer/channel, including root-cause variance analysis (purchase price, usage, labor efficiency, overhead/spending, mix, absorption). Partner with Operations to strengthen inventory controls and transactional discipline (cycle counts, physical inventory, inventory adjustments, segregation of duties, receiving/issuing accuracy). Partner with Sales/Commercial on pricing and quoting support to ensure pricing reflects margin targets, cost changes, and profitability goals. Compliance, Internal Controls, and Audit Support Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax and statutory requirements (as applicable), and company accounting policies. Maintain a strong internal control environment over manufacturing finance processes (close, inventory, cost accounting, capex, purchasing/AP interfaces), including documentation, testing, and remediation. Coordinate internal/external audits and support timely, accurate responses, drive resolution of findings and sustainable corrective actions. Capex, Fixed Assets, and Working Capital Maintain accounting for fixed assets and capital projects: capitalization policy compliance, project tracking, depreciation, disposals, and post-investment reviews. Drive working capital visibility and improvement (inventory turns, excess & obsolete, payables/receivables impact in partnership with Finance/Regal Services). Lead, Manage and Drive Accountability and Continuous Improvement Lead, coach, and develop plant accounting/cost accounting resources (as applicable); set expectations and build standard work. Improve finance processes through automation, ERP/reporting enhancements, and stronger data governance; partner with IT and Corporate Finance on system/process improvements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Significant experience in manufacturing finance/accounting with hands-on cost accounting and inventory valuation.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and close processes.
  • Demonstrated capability in budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis, and operational partnership.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and BI/reporting tools.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA/CMA and/or MBA.
  • Experience with standard cost systems, cost rolls, overhead rate development, and manufacturing variance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting audits (internal/external) and control environments (SOX-like rigor).
  • Track record of driving measurable improvements in margin, cost transparency, and inventory accuracy.
