About The Position

Performs the function of a Nurse Aide in carrying out all assignments given by the Registered Nurse in a safe, appropriate and timely manner. Accountable for all care given during the shift. Adheres to all AHMC standards, policies and procedures. Promotes teamwork among coworkers. Possess ability to communicate and care for patients of all age groups, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Acts as a receptionist for the Emergency Department. Maintains order of desk, ED log and paper supplies. Enters orders in the computer. Maintains confidentiality of patients and the hospital. Requires tact and diplomacy for interactions with patients, families and health team members. Requires good communication and interpersonal skills. Promotes a positive atmosphere within the department, supporting team work and patient advocacy. Strives to exceed patient expectations and maintain a culture that supports AHMC ’s nursing philosophy. Must be customer oriented, caring, compassionate, understanding and sympathetic. Emotional stability and good coping mechanisms are needed in order to respond quickly and appropriately to medical and emotional emergencies. This is a bargaining union position.
