The Division Fleet Manager is a dynamic role, responsible for managing the optimization of company's fleet in order to drive achievement of revenue and profitability goals, operational efficiency and customer demand. Under the direction of the division Fleet Director, the division Fleet Manager develops and executes the fleet plan in accordance with Corporate fleet policy and objectives. Please note the selected candidate should be in the Carolinas area What you'll do: Partnering with the division finance team and with the Corporate Fleet Management in the ongoing analysis and evaluation of a variety of key metrics: Dollar Utilization; Time Utilization; 30/30 after Transfer; Average OEC Unavailable for Rent; Re-rent as % of Revenue; Age of Used Sale; Used Sale Margin; Average Age of Transferred Equipment Promote the achievement of key metrics through identification and sharing of best practices in support of Operations United Strategy. Work closely with DMs and BMs to implement corrective actions, including exit plans for non-compatible fleet. Reviewing CERs to ensure that excess fleet is considered prior to purchase approval, and that purchases are in accordance with Company guidelines and strategic vendor preferences. Manage expenses to Capex plan. Coordinating fleet transfers and sale packages for the division and facilitating transfers outside of the division when necessary. Determining and managing optimal fleet mix in collaboration with DMs and BMs, considering market trends and competition that may impact fleet optimization. In collaboration with field management or sales, may communicate United Rentals, Inc competitive fleet advantage to customers. Work with Director of Eqp/Parts sourcing in identifying/evaluating strategic suppliers. Participate in annual vendor reviews. Provide on-going feedback. Assist corporate Vehicle Fleet Manager in tracking usage/movement of non-rental fleet vehicles. Select proper time and method for disposal of excess underutilized fleet in order to garner highest return. Manage used equipment sales list via Rouse. Use available resources to eliminate excess fleet including: internal resources, Used Equipment Site, EBay, brokers, export partners, etc. Determining and managing to ideal fleet mix and age. Participating in the Division/Region budgeting process and trade area reviews to ensure fleet factors are fully incorporated in decision making. Other duties as assigned.
