About The Position

Lapeyre Stair Inc. a division of Laitram L.L.C. has a position available for a Controller, with a heavy focus on manufacturing. Lapeyre Stair manufactures alternating tread stairs, industrial metal stairs, platforms and crossovers. The qualified individual will lead the month-end close and financial reporting, support capital budgeting, and participate in various business initiatives. This role will report to the General Manager of Lapeyre Stair. Laitram is comprised of four operating divisions - Intralox, Laitram Machinery, Lapeyre Stair, and Laitram Machine Shop. Requirements

• BS degree in accounting or related field, with minimum 5 or 7 years of relevant work experience
• CPA
• Previous experience leading a team
• Knowledge of inventory/manufacturing processes
• Understanding of GAAP
• Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills
• Strong communication and effective collaboration skills
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Working knowledge of other Microsoft products such as Teams and SharePoint

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ERP systems, for example Oracle or Epicor

Responsibilities

• Coordinate month-end close, including planning and scheduling
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Direct activity of accounting clerk
• Review general ledger accounts for accuracy, completeness, and trends
• Analyze gross and net margin, including sales mix and cost of materials
• Document and summarize key financial variances on consolidated cost of materials
• Develop detailed understanding of accounting transactions and flows; identify opportunities to streamline and automate
• Manage semi-annual capital budgeting process
• Participate in projects driven by department and/or company initiatives, including systems/process improvements
• Various Ad-hoc analysis and reporting
