About The Position

The Learning Experience is seeking an experienced District Manager to support franchise childcare centers across Michigan, Indiana, and Southern Ohio. This field-based leadership role focuses on protecting brand standards, driving operational excellence, and ensuring compliance within licensed childcare environments. The District Manager partners closely with franchise owners and center leadership teams to improve enrollment, financial performance, team development, and overall center quality. The ideal candidate has strong early childhood experience, understands state childcare licensing frameworks, and thrives in a high-travel, relationship-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Early childhood education experience in a licensed childcare environment
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a multi-unit operator, district leader, or field-based manager
  • Strong understanding of state childcare licensing and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze profit and loss statements and operational metrics
  • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and project management abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 85 percent
  • Reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a field leader and brand ambassador, ensuring centers consistently meet company standards and operational expectations
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, franchise agreements, and state childcare licensing regulations
  • Act as a trusted business consultant to franchise owners, providing guidance on operations, staffing, enrollment growth, and quality improvement
  • Analyze enrollment trends and profit and loss statements to identify performance opportunities
  • Drive district strategies to improve enrollment, retention, productivity, and center quality
  • Train and implement new initiatives, systems, and operational updates
  • Partner with Marketing to develop and execute regional enrollment action plans
  • Support centers with licensing, hiring, staff development, and new location openings
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with franchise owners, center leaders, and corporate partners
  • Proactively identify challenges, resolve issues, and escalate concerns when appropriate
  • Continuously work to improve performance across the district and the broader organization
