Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree OR five (5) years of progressive experience in multi‑unit food service, hospitality management, plant operations, environmental services, laundry, or related support services.
  • Proven leadership experience in multi‑unit operations with strong exposure to budgeting, customer service, food service management, and people leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in growing business, driving financial performance, and managing client relationships.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to analyze, problem‑solve, and make informed decisions quickly.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • A collaborative, inclusive, and resilient leadership style.
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel extensively across the district.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, develop, and inspire a talented group of Resident District Managers and/or Directors of Dining Services—and their teams—to deliver outstanding hospitality and operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of engagement, safety, inclusion, and accountability across your territory.
  • Support your leaders through coaching, succession planning, and ongoing development.
  • Guide multiple accounts toward achieving key operational, service, and financial goals.
  • Own the district P&L; ensure strong forecasting, budgeting, and reporting practices.
  • Assess risks, make strategic decisions, and balance short‑ and long‑term priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted partner and brand ambassador to clients, campus leaders, and community stakeholders.
  • Attend campus and community events, reinforcing the Chartwells commitment to service, belonging, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment across the district.
  • Share best practices, participate in regional leadership conversations, and help shape district‑wide strategies.
  • Partner with Sales, Retention, and Finance teams during proposal development, proformas, and business reviews.
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements—conducting audits and implementing improvement plans where needed.
