A Day in the Life The Second Shift LTL Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) operations during the second shift to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, efficient workflow, and compliance with company standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced distribution environment. Second Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM Monday-Friday Occasional overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Supervise all LTL activities during second shift, including picking, staging, wrapping, and loading outbound shipments. Ensure all LTL orders are processed accurately and meet scheduled departure times.
  • Workflow Management: Monitor WES/WMS systems to ensure work is waved and prioritized correctly. Coordinate with replenishment and picking teams to maintain lane readiness and avoid bottlenecks.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of LTL drivers and warehouse associates. Conduct shift start Tier meetings to communicate goals, KPIs, and safety reminders.
  • Quality & Compliance: Verify proper handling of freight to prevent damage and ensure compliance with company and DOT standards. Maintain accurate documentation for shipments and inventory movements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Safety: Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
