Your Role at Vantive: Supervise daily activities of transportation private fleet, routing operations, and commercial operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining budget requirements, staffing, talent management, equipment, driver/route scheduling, securing back up labor, training & DOT compliance. Qualified candidate will be responsible for implementing facility/region initiatives to optimize transportation expenses and provide analysis and consultation to facility/region level management on transportation expenses and issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience DOT/transportation experience to ensure fleet driver compliance or on the job relevant experience working with driver positions.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent leadership, interpersonal, planning and communication skills.
  • Customer orientation, collaboration skills and the ability to prioritize major improvement activities.
  • Must be able to think innovatively and strategically.
  • Must be able to work independently and work in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to set performance standards to meet budgetary targets.
  • Must be results oriented and be able to work collaboratively with counterparts in other functions.
  • Proficient in multiple computer applications including but not limited to Excel, Power Point, Word, DOT on board computers, and warehouse management systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies, systems and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the operation.
  • Coordinate the activities of the Traffic operation with other internal departments, third party vendors, and customers.
  • Supervises drivers one or more operations sites.
  • Supervise employee workload and objectives as required to optimize staff effectiveness.
  • Act as liaison between customers, distribution, internal Supply chain, sales, marketing, field service, accounting, and external vendors to resolve status, production, delivery and billing inquiries.
  • Accountable for employee and operational compliance with established internal policies and practices, as well as divisional, state and federal healthcare regulatory requirements including but not limited EH&S, OSHA, FDA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Insure all new employees are properly trained.
  • May be involved in delivery of staff training as needed.
  • Responsible for all aspects of staffing (recruiting, interviewing, and selection) and talent management (performance management and activities to achieve performance objectives).
  • Review and answer inquiries from customer service, customers, sales, and vendors.
  • Uses judgment and diplomacy to handle complaints, make adjustments and resolve issues.
  • Escalation point for employees for problems requiring special handling.
  • Contact parties involved and take necessary action to resolve problems.
  • Take proactive steps as appropriate.
  • May participate in budget and forecasting processes.
  • Administer and support all standard operating procedures, regulations and quality procedures.
  • Required to travel as necessary to offsite locations
