About The Position

Performs functions related to Whole Foods Market safety procedures and policies, as well as governmental regulatory compliance, including but not limited to the maintenance and updating of safe practices, policies and procedures as they relate to the Distribution. This Team Member will be required to become educated with all applicable local, state and federal regulatory procedures including state and federal DOT regulations, Good Organic Standards, and OSHA.

  • High attention to detail and thoroughness in approach with all paperwork
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required

Nice To Haves

  • 4 year degree in food safety preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assume point for maintenance repairs of equipment in both facilities and ensure continual equipment support and maintenance.
  • Responsible for ensuring all programs and equipment are for safe working conditions and are constantly addressing Team Member safety, compliance and sanitation including food safety.
  • Develop training programs to support the DC.
  • Partner with the Regional Safety Specialist to ensure all programs, trainings and compliance are being met.
  • Order and distribute needed safety and PPE equipment for facility.
  • Set up DC safety committee and meetings.
  • Establish and maintain all training programs in accordance to facility Illness and injury Prevention Plan (IIPP) and facility powered equipment.
  • Safe Lifting - source and establish training materials.
  • Act as liaison between facility and RSS.
  • Have a complete understanding of following bodies of regulation, requirements and necessary information are being maintained and communicated through the facility.
  • Required to ensure training in these areas, updating information, continual personal and facility education and preparation for ensuring the current facility and any future facilities are meeting standards.
