About The Position

At Trivett Furniture Companies, we proudly serve as a licensee and distributor for Ashley Furniture, managing the distribution of quality furniture to 13 retail locations. We are committed to delivering exceptional products and services while prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of our employees. We are seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager to lead our distribution center team. This role is a day shift, Monday through Friday role! This role involves overseeing daily operations, optimizing resource use, and ensuring that all activities align with our standards of excellence. You will serve as a key liaison between warehouse operations, customer service, and delivery teams.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 3 years of management experience in a distribution center of at least 150,000 SF, ideally in a consumer goods or home delivery environment.
  • 1 year experience in 3PL final mile delivery
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with RF Inventory Control and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Skills: Strong safety orientation, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work in a warehouse environment with potential exposure to various substances.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Direct daily activities, including labor scheduling, supervision, and the efficient use of space, equipment, and manpower.
  • Productivity & Performance: Implement the Value Chain Model to ensure productivity and adherence to goals and budgets. Analyze performance reports and address any issues to enhance productivity and profitability.
  • Staff Management: Supervise, train, and develop team members. Foster a talent pipeline and provide regular feedback to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all safety, quality, and security standards are met. Monitor HR compliance, asset protection, and operational reviews.
  • Resource Optimization: Develop programs to maintain costeffective operations. Plan and manage equipment use and maintenance to meet business needs while minimizing costs.
  • Quality Control: Inspect showroom deliveries and pickups to ensure they meet quality standards. Document and address any deviations.
  • Customer Coordination: Communicate with company personnel regarding customer interactions, including pickups, returns, deliveries, and other distribution center functions.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor receiving volumes to anticipate inventory needs. Ensure timely dispatch of merchandise to meet company standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Share best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
