About The Position

Armstrong World Industries has a job opportunity for a Distribution Center (DC) Coordinator to be located at our ceiling plant in Marietta, PA. Reporting to the Distribution Center Supervisor, the DC Coordinator will be responsible for the effective planning, coordination and direction of all inbound and outbound shipments and receipts over a 3-shift operation. This position follows an alternating weekly schedule between 1st shift (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) and 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM). What's in it for you? Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of coordination and scheduling experience in a busy, fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management software programs
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Processes inbound and outbound shipment orders
  • Plans loading and inbound shipment receipt schedules
  • Plans the schedule for outbound shipments to maximize productivity
  • Directs drivers and unitizing/job pack crews to complete loads, including loading dock door assignment
  • Communicates with carriers to schedule and expedite shipments and resolve conflicts
  • Processes load lists and prioritize loads for the warehouse palletizing and unitizing crew to build mixed loads
  • Works with customer service, using the SCALE (Manhattan) Warehouse Management System (WMS) and SAP to create computer generated load lists
  • Resolves workflow issues between SAP and SCALE
  • Processes and ensure the accuracy of all shipment paperwork
  • Allocates and deallocates inventory and update batches as needed
  • Assists in ensuring inventory accuracy
  • Investigates, troubleshoots, and corrects order variances by communicating with customer service, production planning, Distribution Center personnel, and any other groups involved in processing customer orders
  • Organizes and prioritizes the unloading of all inbound orders for the receiving crew, including setting the unload dock door assignments
  • Serves as relief supervisor as needed and can manage the workforce in the absence of the regular supervisor. Can drive safety and productivity while servicing our orders day to day.
