About The Position

The Dispute Associate investigates and resolves fraudulent merchant disputes involving debit & credit card point of sale and PIN-based transactions, ATM transactions, and person-to-person transactions. The Associate ensures compliance with current regulations including Federal Regulation E, Federal Regulation Z and Mastercard. Requirements

  • Minimum one year in supporting card fraud and/or merchant dispute within the financial services industry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills over a variety of channels that include email, face to face, corporate chat systems for overall team synergy and production
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to resolve complex issues with minimal direction
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and prioritize accordingly
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with Federal Regulation E, Federal Regulation Z and MasterCard
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Word and Excel
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Proactively detect fraudulent activity and/or billing errors by analyzing account and member information
  • Mitigate loss and perform recovery by following appropriate rules and regulations
  • Administer dispute decisions and make member account adjustments; process disputes quickly and accurately, following up with members and merchants as appropriate
  • File compliance cases and/or escalate disputes to pre-arbitration or arbitration as required
  • Respond to inquiries from internal Associates regarding credit and debit card issues
  • Identify and recommend updates or improvements in Card Services processes and procedures
