About The Position

Dispatcher Transdev in Lawrence, Kansas is hiring a Dispatcher. The Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety. Transdev is proud to offer: $21.70 - $28.43 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement PayScale) o Starting pay $21.70 with progression to $28.43 over 7 years. Benefits include: Paid sick leave; medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, 401k retirement benefits, and company holidays. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred.
  • 1 year of customer service, dispatch experience preferred
  • Must have or be willing to get Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement.
  • Excellent phone demeanor and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, judgment and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, e-mail, and/or database software preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Must be able to read a map and possess knowledge of the service area.
  • Must be hospitable, guest/customer service oriented, and be willing to serve the needs of passengers.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
  • DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
  • Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc.
  • Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations and missed trips.
  • Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
  • Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
  • Other duties as required.
