About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service, established in 1959, is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest, employing over 3,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses across more than 55 locations. The company operates a fleet of over 800 ambulances and provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed-wing emergency medical transportation, focusing on safe transportation and quality medical care. The dispatcher is responsible for dispatching, overseeing and maintaining the status of the gantt, monitoring Round Trip transports, giving appropriate ETAs, triaging ambulance response, and acting as support to customer service representatives. This position supports the company mission by exhibiting communication, accountability, responsiveness, excellence, and competence with employees and providers.

Responsibilities

Be extremely knowledgeable in service area
Give appropriate ETA’s while accounting for type and level of response, traffic patterns, and weather conditions
Prioritize request for ambulance service
Monitoring Round Trip
Communicate issues to marketing, management, and customers as necessary
Assist EMT’s and Paramedics with directions as necessary
Maintain appropriate status of crews at all times
Delegate additional responsibilities to assistant as necessary
Assist in receiving and entering in request for transportation (phone and electronic portal)
Communicate patient diversions and keep all appropriate associated records
Maintain status records and give appropriate ETA’s for Critical Care Transport as necessary
Other duties as assigned
