The Dispatcher will be responsible for planning the day-to-day activities of the drayage drivers, analyzing routes for the most efficient loads, and troubleshooting to maximize the results of the transportation department. The position must focus on container availability/status within the terminal, scheduling, and coordinating deliveries to customers. This individual also ensures outstanding customer service is provided to all our clients. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsible for supporting the operation, including, but not limited to the following activities: Updating Trinium (TMS) with accessorial (Terminal WT, Split terminations, Stop offs, etc..). Trace and Track containers on terminal websites to ensure extraction prior to the last free day. Troubleshoot problems at terminals and communicate with customers to ensure the timely extraction of units. Coordinate pick-up and deliveries with outside vendors, terminals, Warehouse Operations, and customers. Monitor driver activities via GPS. Maintaining a good working relationship with the drivers (driver retention). Proper timekeeping and dispatching drivers to meet terminal appointments. Properly tracking per diem and avoiding unnecessary charges from SSL and Chassis providers. Keeping up with driver dispatches and escalating when something doesn't look right (driver pulled over to the side of the road, the driver taking too long to finalize a dispatch, drivers arriving to work late, etc). Exercise discretion and independent judgment to troubleshoot driver/drayage issues. Performs other related duties as assigned.
