About The Position

Pack Rat Hauling is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team at our Leesburg office. This role is essential to the daily coordination of our field operations, ensuring timely and efficient service to our customers. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, excels in logistics and communication, and has previous dispatch experience—particularly in waste management, logistics, or service-based industries.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Proven experience in a dispatching role is required
Strong knowledge of local geography and traffic patterns in Northern Virginia
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
Comfortable with technology and dispatching tools/software
Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure

Nice To Haves

Experience with scheduling, logistics, or route planning is preferred

Responsibilities

Schedule and dispatch drivers, work crews, vehicles, and equipment to appropriate locations based on schedules, customer requests, or real-time needs.
Use phones, dispatch software, and GPS tools to communicate with drivers and field personnel.
Monitor job progress and make real-time adjustments to routes or assignments as needed.
Collaborate with supervisors and field staff to resolve issues and keep schedules on track.
Maintain clear and organized records including: Daily schedules and work orders Completed work logs and service documentation Customer requests and complaints Equipment and inventory tracking
Coordinate last-minute service requests or changes with efficiency and professionalism.
Relay accurate information between teams in a fast-paced environment.
Handle clerical tasks related to dispatching including documentation, recordkeeping, and system updates.
