About The Position

Responsible for the workflow into and out of their designated area of responsibility. This includes the set-up, acknowledgment, investigation, and disposition of domestic claims in accordance with company policy and government regulations. The role involves coordinating scheduling of van operators and equipment throughout the system, ensuring customers' service requirements are met by van operators, and monitoring the location of assigned van operators. The dispatcher communicates necessary information to agents, drivers, and customers regarding shipment status and determines actions to rectify actual or anticipated service disruptions. They also monitor the line haul production of assigned van operators to maintain and increase profitability and ensure compliance with ICC and DOT regulations when scheduling customer needs. Additionally, the position requires developing positive working relationships with agents, drivers, and staff to enhance teamwork and proactively ensuring that customers, agents, and van operators' needs are met or exceeded.

Requirements

  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and solve problems effectively.
  • High school education or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months related experience.
  • Computer experience, specifically Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced education.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates scheduling of van operators and equipment throughout system.
  • Makes certain that customers’ service requirements are provided by the van operators.
  • Monitors location of assigned van operators and communicates to agents, drivers and customers all necessary information to effectively keep all individuals informed as to the status of any shipment dispatched to be serviced.
  • Receives information of actual or anticipated disruptions of service and determines action required to rectify conditions.
  • Monitors the line haul production of their assigned van operators to ensure that they are operating in a manner that maintains and increases profitability.
  • Monitors the scheduling of customers’ needs to ensure that the van operator can comply with all ICC and DOT regulations.
  • Develop positive working relationships with agents, drivers and staff that enhance teamwork.
  • Is proactive in making sure that customers, agents and van operators’ needs are met or exceeded.
