About The Position

Civicity is a part of the Block by Block family. It is our security division that combines traditional security functions with a people-first approach. The Dispatcher plays a critical role in supporting field operations by monitoring activity, coordinating response efforts, and ensuring real-time communication across teams.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to multitask across multiple screens and systems in a fast paced, high responsibility environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Must have a strong sense of accountability, be team oriented and have a service mindset
  • At least 2 years prior dispatch experience, call center, security operations, or coordination experience
  • At least 2 years prior experience monitoring cameras or working in a control room environment
  • Prior experience using multiple software systems and applications simultaneously
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while monitoring multiple screens and systems and occasionally stand, stretch, or move between workstations as needed
  • Ability to visually assess information across several monitors simultaneously, including camera feeds, software systems, and communication platforms with continuous screen exposure
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and operating communication equipment (phone, radio, computer)
  • Ability to hear and communicate clearly via phone, radio, and in-person conversations
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail for extended periods, especially in a fast-paced or high-activity environment

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming calls, service requests, and alerts
  • Assess urgency and prioritize response appropriately
  • Dispatch field personnel (Safety, Outreach, Cleaning, etc.) in real time
  • Track response progress and follow up as needed
  • Monitor live camera feeds, radio traffic, and system alerts
  • Identify and escalate incidents or unusual activity
  • Maintain awareness of field team locations and availability
  • Serve as the central point of communication between field teams, leadership, and external partners
  • Provide accurate updates and relay critical information without delay
  • Log all incidents, calls, and dispatch activity accurately in designated systems
  • Maintain detailed and timely records to support reporting and accountability
