As a member of our Dispatch Team, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining our culture of customer service excellence. Our Dispatchers are required to have experience with transportation logistics, dispatching software, and customer service to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required- Associate degree in logistics preferred.
- 3–5 years of previous transportation logistics experience required.
- Experience with dispatching software and logistics management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively build rapport with both internal and external customers.
- A positive attitude and the ability to function both independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency with computers and dispatching software.
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively relay messages and coordinate deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations according to customer requests and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and reroute drivers as necessary to maintain on-time deliveries and superb customer service.
- Relay messages and vital information between drivers, customers, and other Porter Pipe & Supply personnel.
- Communicate with customers and drivers to address questions, conflicts, and requests.
- Prepare daily work and run schedules for drivers.
- Monitor truck and personnel locations to coordinate service and schedules efficiently.
- Determine vehicle and personnel requirements based on work orders and customer needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
