Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Highly organized.
  • Accountability, compliance, and teamwork.
  • Professional, courteous, and respectful interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and other staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year experience with medical terminology preferably with a background in emergency medical transportation.
  • Thorough geographic knowledge of service areas.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks; ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Competent radio communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Answering incoming calls, administrative, non-emergency, and emergency
  • Professional etiquette
  • Promptly ascertain proper levels of response.
  • Triage calls and enter data into computer system.
  • Data Entry with critical attention to details.
  • Constantly monitoring the dispatch system.
  • Ensure units are en-route.
  • Post moves in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure other unites are within acceptable distance.
  • Communicate appropriate routing instructions.
  • Assist with routine maintenance of Communication Center.
  • Investigate and report all time exceptions.
  • Complete and submit daily reports.
  • Assist in training new personnel.
