SUMMARY Operates Batch Plant to provide a quality concrete product for delivery to customers by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must have knowledge of computer batching systems and components of a batch plant either by formal education or previous experience. Basic knowledge of equipment operation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear; sit; stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, vibration, wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Responsibilities

  • Daily concrete dispatch duties.
  • Proper material in bins
  • Proper plant maintenance
  • General upkeep of building and grounds around plant
  • Operation of equipment (loaders, skid-steer, etc.)
  • Office paperwork and reporting
  • Must have good communication and organization skills
  • Must have ability to multi-task
  • Must have the ability to project a professional attitude when dealing with internal and external customers either by phone or in person
