About The Position

Transdev in Lawrence, Kansas is hiring a Dispatch Manager. The Dispatch Manager is responsible for the direct oversight of dispatch operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient transportation service delivery. This position provides leadership to dispatch personnel, ensures compliance with company policies, client contract requirements, and applicable labor agreements, and supports Transdev’s commitment to safety, customer service, and operational excellence. Transdev is proud to offer: Non-CBA Position: • Competitive compensation package of minimum $53,000 – Maximum $66,000 Benefits include: • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks • Sick days: 5 days • Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating • Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability.Benefits may vary depending on location policy. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatch operations
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements and workforce management practices
  • Proficiency with dispatch, scheduling, and AVL/CAD systems
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
  • Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and ensures a culture of safety consistent with Transdev’s core values
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including ADA and DOT requirements
  • Enforces company policies, standard operating procedures, and collective bargaining agreements (CBA)
  • Assists with Investigations on incidents and supports corrective actions as needed
  • Oversees day-to-day dispatch operations, including fixed route, paratransit, and/or microtransit services
  • Monitors real-time service performance using AVL, CAD/AVL, and dispatch systems
  • Coordinates service adjustments to maintain on-time performance and service continuity
  • Works closely with Maintenance to ensure vehicle availability and readiness
  • Supervises dispatchers, reservationists, and related staff
  • Develops schedules, manages hours, and ensures adequate staffing levels
  • Provides coaching, training, and performance evaluations
  • Ensures high-quality customer service delivery through dispatch operations
  • Addresses and resolves customer concerns and service issues in a timely manner
  • Supports client communication and reporting requirements
  • Maintains accurate dispatch logs, reports, and operational documentation
  • Prepares and analyzes reports related to on-time performance, service interruptions, and staffing
  • Supports internal audits, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as needed
