About The Position

The Walt Disney Company’s Disney Platform Distribution group is the part of The Walt Disney Company that sells and licenses Disney owned content to consumers and distribution partners around the globe. As our intern, you will be part of the team that is responsible for the management of Free TV rights and the collection of secondary royalties (cable retransmission royalties and reproduction levies) in domestic and international territories. This includes researching rights information for our catalogue of films and series, registering our rights with various industry organizations and tracking and collecting royalties for the use of our content.

Requirements

  • Strong inter-personal, organizational, and writing skills
  • Strong Excel and MS Access skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability.
  • Able to see tasks through to completion in a fast-paced and dynamic international setting
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • This internship is a full-time commitment from June 2026-August 2026.
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, CA area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with or an interest in contracts and some legal research
  • Current junior or senior level student
  • Earning a degree in business, media studies, or related field is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Analyze rights data in Disney’s internal rights systems and complex data reports for the registration of our content (features, television series and National Geographic documentaries)
  • Register and amend rights of Disney’s catalogue with various international organization systems
  • Manually research missing metadata in Disney’s internal systems for the registration of our content
  • Build MS Access Databases and perform various update queries
