Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards. This position is responsible for collecting soiled dishes, trays, service ware, and cookware from assigned areas throughout the hospital, including upper floors, at scheduled times throughout the day. This role ensures proper washing, sanitizing, air-drying, and storage in accordance with sanitation standards. Duties include operating dish machines and hand-washing items as required. This is a fast-paced, physically demanding position that requires frequent walking, pushing and pulling carts weighing up to 50 pounds, and covering long distances throughout the shift.
